Corruption risks associated with donations and lobbying
Donations and lobbying can be used to gain privileged access to decision-makers within a party, especially if it is in government, by elevating a donor's or lobbyist's profile. Candidates and political parties also obtain donations through fundraising activities, requests for in-kind support, direct payments and via associated entities. Together these factors have the potential to compromise a member of parliament or councillor once elected.

Operation Watts
Operation Watts was the first ever joint investigation conducted by IBAC and the Victorian Ombudsman. The investigation was initiated following two referrals, from the Attorney-General to IBAC, and from the Legislative Council to the Ombudsman, following allegations of 'branch stacking' involving misuse of public funds by certain Moderate Labor members of Parliament.

Special report on corrections
Currently more than 7000 people are held in custody in Victoria's publicly and privately managed prisons, overseen by Corrections Victoria, a business unit of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). Many of these prisoners struggle with complex issues including mental health conditions, drug addiction and a history of trauma.

Operation Meroo
An IBAC investigation into allegations that the former CEO of a Victorian regional health service misused their position and engaged in corrupt conduct, including that they subverted procurement processes and failed to declare and manage conflicts of interest.
