Thursday 26 Mar 2020 It's now easier and safer to report wrongdoing
Victoria's integrity system received a significant boost following reforms to public interest disclosure (whistleblower) legislation which came into effect in January. It's now easier and safer to disclose wrongdoing and misconduct in public office. Under the new system the term ‘protected disclosures’ has been replaced by 'public interest disclosures' (PIDs). The change in terminology aligns Victoria with other states and territories and supports the reporting of wrongdoing.
